At AGRIS, we placed our focus on Horticulture about twenty years ago, at a time when vegetable seedlings were a novel idea in the Greek business market. AGRIS is the first and only company in Greece which, despite its steady course and singular dynamic, took it upon itself to break away from field crops in order to specialise in a specific field. This initiative formed the root of a life's work, the core of which has always been our absolute focus on Horticulture through research and development. Today, AGRIS is the largest company specialising in Horticulture in Southeast Europe.

Since 1987, HM Clause, one of the largest Horticultural companies in the world, has entrusted AGRIS with its exclusive distridution in Southeast Europe. To our customers, this simply translates to: exceptional hybrids, tested in different cultivation zones and internationally guaranteed for their quality and increased productivity.

By applying the same high control and evaluation specifications, we constantly research and develop the vegetable seedlings we sell to growers who lay their trust in the services provided by AGRIS. Through adaptation to each place and our people-oriented approach, we research and mass produce seedlings with special quality characteristics and significant advantages for the field, which put excellent products on the shelf, thus connecting the first and last link in the Horticultural Chain.

Each of our pillars of activity - supply of seeds, production of seedlings, consulting - is incorporated in AGRIS' Horticulture Chain, which offers continuity and consistency of actions for all players, from the growers to the food factory. We at AGRIS desire and aspire to participate in the new vision for Horticulture, which promotes collaborative actions and transforms crop systems worldwide. We believe in environmental sustainability; we consider balanced development to be the only way and we participate with our products, research and focused horticultural activities in the creation of more possibilities and more comprehensive answers to the problems related to cultivation, energy and nutrition, which are currently of concern.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT IN THE FRONT LINE

A large portion of AGRIS' resources goes to modern horticultural crop farming programmes and collaborations with research centres. We are the only company in Greece that has three state-of-the-art Trial Stations for the development of new products, which you are welcome to visit.

Since 2002, we have established multilevel collaborations with recognised academic institutions such as the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Technological Educational Institute of Crete and the Technological Educational Institute of the Peloponnese, which focus on basic research as well as technological or applied research. We respond to the serious challenges faced by the Horticulture sector, from climate change to progressive food crises, with searches, experimentation, solutions and development proposals. This experience of profound knowledge is what we cultivate on a daily basis at AGRIS for our people.
